Training at Iron Boxing Gym in Nantun, Taichung, Taiwan, Kai Ting “Killer Bee” Chuang, 23, of Chinese Taipei became ONE Championship’s inaugural ONE Super Series Kickboxing Atomweight World Champion on July 7, 2018. She defeated Yodcherry Sityodtong, 19, of Thailand in the main event of “ONE: Battle for the Heavens” at the Guangzhou Tianhe Gymnasium in Guangzhou, China.
“Winning the ONE Super Series title was the greatest feeling,” Chuang stated. “Going up against a great fighter like Yodcherry Sityodtong, I could feel the pressure. Everyone expected her to win and the odds were stacked against me so when I won the bout, it was the most amazing achievement of my career.”
On October 6, 2018, Chuang will defend the ONE Super Series Kickboxing Atomweight World Champion title for the first time. She and her challenger Stamp Fairtex, 20, who is training at Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya, Thailand, will co-headline “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes.”
“I have worked hard in training over the last couple of months,” Chuang shared. “I know that in order to keep this belt, I have to continuously upgrade my skill set. There are a lot of tough opponents ahead and I will do everything in my power to keep the title.”
Featuring one boxing bout, six mixed martial arts matches and seven ONE Super Series striking contests, “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” will take place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on October 6, 2018. It will be headlined by reigning World Boxing Council Super Flyweight World Champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, 31, of Thailand and his challenger Iran “MagnifiKO” Diaz, 28, of Mexico.
