Russia and Germany were among the 19 countries represented at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” on May 17, 2019. ONE Championship held the combat sports event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.

Featuring 10 mixed martial arts matches and six ONE Super Series contests, which were six kickboxing bouts, “ONE: Enter the Dragon” was the Singapore-based martial arts organization’s second event in 2019 that took place in Singapore. The fifth bout was between Dzhabar “Genghis Khan” Askerov, 33, of Dagestan, Russia and Enriko “The Hurricane” Kehl, 27, of Thuringia, Germany.

Askerov and Kehl solely represented Russia and Germany, respectively, at “ONE: Enter the Dragon.” Australia, Argentina, Brazil, China, France, India, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Moldova, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States were also represented.

Born in Wetzlar, Hesse, Germany on February 19, 1992, Kehl was 5 years old when he started his training in kung fu. He has been competing professionally since 2009 and is currently training at Tempel Fightschool in Darmstadt, Hesse, Germany.

“ONE: Enter the Dragon” marked Kehl’s second ONE Super Series outing. When he made his debut in the league at “ONE: Reign of Valor” on March 8, 2019, he defeated Liam Nolan, 21, of the United Kingdom.

Red Corner

Training out of Vityaz Fight Club in Moscow, Russia, Askerov made his ONE Super Series debut at “ONE: Enter the Dragon.” Born in Kurah, Dagestan on January 24, 1986, he is of Lezgin descent.

Askerov was 6 years old when he started his training in judo. He is also an undefeated MMA fighter and boxer.

Fight Result

The match between Askerov and Kehl was one of the four quarter-final bouts of the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix at “ONE: Enter the Dragon.” Atsushi Onari served as the referee.

After three three-minute rounds, the kickboxing contest was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Onari raised the hand of Askerov, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

Winning at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” improved the professional kickboxing record of Askerov to 108 wins, 35 losses and 2 draws. On the other hand, Kehl now has 48 wins, 15 losses and 2 draws.

“ONE: Enter the Dragon” Main Events

Both fighting out of the Netherlands, Nieky “The Natural” Holzken, 34, and Regian “The Immortal” Eersel, 25, competed for the inaugural ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Championship in the co-main event. The latter won the title via unanimous decision.

Christian “The Warrior” Lee, 20, of Singapore challenged reigning ONE Lightweight World Championship: Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki, 35, of Japan in the main event. The Singaporean challenger dethroned the Japanese defending champion via technical knockout.
