Professionally known as Alex Gonzaga, Catherine Cruz Gonzaga-Morada, 35, was born in Taytay, Rizal, Philippines to Carlito “Bonoy” Gonzaga and Crisanta “Pinty” Cruz Gonzaga. Alex is the younger sister of Celestine Cruz Gonzaga-Soriano, 38, who is professionally known as Toni Gonzaga.

On January 16, 2023, Alex was caught on camera smearing birthday cake icing on the forehead of Allan Crisostomo, one of the waiters of Florabel Resto and Catering Service in Valle Verde, Barangay Ugong, Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The video went viral and she was criticized by thousands of Filipinos for being rude and entitled.

Toni’s 20th anniversary concert titled “I AM… TONI” will be held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila on January 20, 2023. She has been married to Paul Soriano, 41, since 2015 while Alex and Michael “Mikee” Morada, 34, have been married since 2020.

On January 18, 2023, Gonzaga family’s publicist Peter Ledesma released a statement to Fashion Pulis claiming that Alex was not drunk when the said viral video was taken. Ledesma explained, “This Allan… is a friend of Mommy Pinty Gonzaga and Soriano Family. Kaya (That’s why) majority of the event of Gonzaga and Soriano Family ay sila ang kinukuha ni Mommy Pinty na mag-cater ng (are handled by them because Mommy Pinty gets them for) food and beverages.”

“At itong si Allan ay laging kabiruan na Mommy Pinty and Alex at ito ang parating nagse-serve sa kanila (And this Allan is someone Mommy Pinty and Alex always joke around with and he is the one who often serves them),” Ledesma continued. “Kaya tuwing nagkikita ay binabati agad ni Allan ang mag-mommy, magiliw ito sa kanila (That’s why every time they see each other, Allan always greets the two. He is very friendly with them.)

Later that day, Crisostomo also released a statement saying Alex has personally apologized to him. She herself took to Facebook to release an apology statement.
