The music video of Adele‘s new song “Easy on Me” was directed by Cannes Grand Prix winning director Xavier Dolan. It was shot in Quebec, Canada in September 2021.

Dolan directed the music video of Adele’s hit song “Hello,” which was released on October 23, 2015. She and Greg Kurstin co-wrote both “Hello” and “Easy on Me.”

“I was honestly hoping for this to happen,” Dolan said. “For me, there’s nothing stronger than artists reconnecting after years apart.”

“I’ve changed,” the director continued. “Adele’s changed and this is an opportunity to celebrate how we’ve both evolved and how we’ve also both remained faithful to our dearest themes. It’s all the same but different.”

Columbia Records released “Easy on Me” on October 15, 2021. Its music video begins in the same house Dolan and Adele used to shoot the video for “Hello.”
