Meiji Cruz, 27, of Valenzuela, Metro Manila, Philippines almost won one of the Binibining Pilipinas 2021 crowns. She was second runner-up while Gabrielle Camille Basiano, 23, of Borongan, Eastern Samar, Philippines was first runner-up.
Hosted by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Miss Grand International 2016 first runner-up Nicole Cordoves, the Bb. Pilipinas 2021 coronation night took place at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on July 11, 2021. Including Cruz and Basiano, 34 Filipino women competed for the four titles.
It was Hannah Consencino Arnold, 25, of Masbate who won the highest title, which is Miss International Philippines 2021. She will represent the Philippines at Miss International 2021 in Japan in November 2021.
The other three crowned queens were Miss Grand Philippines 2021 Samantha Alexandra Panlilio, 25, of Cavite, Miss Intercontinental Philippines 2021 Cinderella Faye Obeñita, 25, of Cagayan de Oro and Miss Globe Philippines 2021 Maureen Montagne, 27, of Batangas. The dates and venues of their respective international pageants have yet to be announced.
Several previous Bb. Pilipinas second runners-up went on to become successful in international beauty pageants. Bb. Pilipinas 2011 second runner-up Mary Jean Lastimosa finished in the Top 10 in Miss Universe 2014.
Bb. Pilipinas 2012 second runner-up Annalie Forbes became Miss Grand International 2013 third runner-up. Bb. Pilipinas 2016 second runner-up Jehza Mae Huelar finished in the Top 10 at Miss Supranational 2018.
Samantha Mae Bernardo was Bb. Pilipinas second runner-up both in 2018 and 2019. She went on to become Miss Grand International 2020 first runner-up.
