Jordan Brand’s first store in the Philippines will open its doors to consumers on December 3, 2020. Located in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila, the store introduces a new retail design concept inspired by the legacy of National Basketball Association legend Michael Jordan and authentically grounded in basketball culture.
The new store will be home to the best from Jordan Brand in terms products, premium product services and experiences . The design aesthetic across its 4,500 square feet is rooted in the game and community of basketball and it leads with a design palette that is authentically connected to the heart and soul of the brand.
To help highlight the vibrant Filipino culture and flavor throughout the store, art from some of Manila’s most exciting artists, including Veejay Villafranca, Jaime Pacena, Raxenne Maniquiz and AJ Dimarucot, will be showcased throughout the space. Nike Philippines country marketing manager Jino Ferrer stated, “Basketball is more than just a sport in the Philippines, it is embedded in the culture.”
“In the high streets of Manila or the local barangays across the country, the passion for basketball inspires and drives the communities,” Ferrer continued. “This store will help take the future of basketball culture to the next level by inspiring our new generation through the legacy of Jordan, the best innovation and services like never before.”
The store boasts the largest assortment for Jordan apparel across men’s, women’s and kids in Southeast Asia. Consumers can access exclusive features like one-on-one styling services or Custom 23 to customize Jordan product to help curate their on and off-court looks and at launch, designs from eight globally acclaimed artists will be used to customize laces, dubraes, aglets and tees.
The rooftop of the store features a basketball court with a stunning mural designed by Kimou Meyer, an artist from New York City, New York, United States. Through the design, he captures the energy and ethos of the Jordan Brand by showcasing two figures intertwined in a 1:1 game.
Also on December 3, 2020, 150 pairs of the limited-edition shoe Air Jordan 4 Retro Manila will drop exclusively for the launch of the store. There will be 150 pairs only.
