Murat “The Butcher” Aygün, 31, of Turkey and the Netherlands will make his debut in ONE Championship‘s striking-only league ONE Super Series at “ONE: Big Bang.” The Dutch-Turkish kickboxer will challenge reigning ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Champion Roman Kryklia (Роман Крикля), 29, of Ukraine.
Featuring four MMA matches and two kickboxing contests, “ONE: Big Bang” will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on December 4, 2020. The title bout between Kryklia and Aygün is the main event of the evening.
Aygün was born on December 13, 1988. He is managed by Worldwide Fight Management and is training out of the SB Gym in Utrecht, Netherlands.
In 2016, Aygün became the International Sport Karate Association (ISKA) Oriental Rules World Super Heavyweight Champion and the HEAT Kick Heavyweight Champion. He was the World Fighting League’s heavyweight champion in 2017 and tournament heavyweight champion in 2018.
“ONE: Big Bang” marks Aygün’s second fight in 2020. He is coming out of a unanimous decision victory over Mohamed El Bouchaibi of Belgium at “Enfusion 95” in Eindhoven, Netherlands on February 29, 2020.
Currently, Aygün holds a professional kickboxing record of 16 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Kryklia has 45 wins and 7 losses.
Kryklia was born in Krasnograd, Ukraine on October 11, 1991. He is a protégé of Valentin Nikolaevich Kozhushko.
On November 16, 2019, Kryklia and Tarik “The Tank” Khbabez, 28, of the Netherlands competed for the inaugural ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Championship at “ONE: Age of Dragons” in Beijing, China. The Ukrainian kickboxer won via technical knockout.
It was the second championship Kryklia won in 2019. He defeated Iraj Azizpour, 32, of Iran in the grand finals of the Kunlun Fight Super Heavyweight Tournament.
In 2015, Kryklia was the Yangame’s Fight Night 2: TATNEFT TNA Collizion +80 kg/176 lbs Champion and the Tatneft Cup 2015 +91 kg/200 lbs Champion. In 2016, he was the A1 WGP Part 3 Heavyweight Tournament Champion, the A1 WGP Final Heavyweight Tournament Champion and the K-1 World GP Euro 2016 -95kg Championship Tournament Champion.
In 2017, Kryklia was the H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco’s Cup +94.2 kg. and the Monte Carlo Fighting Masters Heavyweight Champion +94.2 kg. In 2018, he was the FEA World Grand Prix Tournament Champion.
