Fans of Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio, 31, of the Philippines will see him compete again at “ONE: Inside the Matrix 3.” The former ONE Flyweight World Champion will fight “The Running Man” Song Min Jong, 28, of South Korea.
Featuring five MMA matches, “ONE: Inside the Matrix 3” will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on November 13, 2020. In the co-main event of the evening, Eustaquio and Song will battle it out at a catch weight of 64 kg.
Competing professionally since 2010, Song will make his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Inside the Matrix 3.” He is coming out of two ONE Warrior Series wins.
On April 25, 2019, Song submitted Alan “The Apprentice” Philpott, 28, of Northern Ireland at “ONE Warrior Series 5” in Singapore. On October 5, 2019, the Korean MMA fighter defeated Kodai “Jake” Murata, 28, of Japan via unanimous decision at “ONE Warrior Series 8” in Japan.
The catchweight contest with Song will be Eustaquio’s 18th ONE Championship fight. The Filipino MMA fighter has been competing in the Singapore-based martial arts promotion since 2012.
Eustraquio trains at Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines. His teammate Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon, 32, will headine “ONE: Inside the Matrix 3” with John “Hands of Stone” Lineker, 30, of Brazil.
When Eustaquio made his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Battle of Heroes” on February 11, 2012 in Indonesia, he defeated Alex “Little Rock” Silva, 38, of Brazil via unanimous decision. The Filipino MMA fighter had his first loss in the promotion on May 31, 2013 at “ONE: Rise to Power” in the Philippines where he lost via unanimous decision to Andrew Leone, 31, of the United States.
On January 26, 2018, Eustaquio became the interim ONE Flyweight World Champion. The Team Lakay fighter won the title by defeating Kairat “The Kazakh” Akhtemov, 33, of Kazakhstan via unanimous decision at “ONE: Global Superheroes” in the Philippines.
On June 23, 2018, Eustaquio became the new ONE Flyweight World Champion. He dethroned then champion Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes, 31, of Brazil via split decision at “ONE: Pinnacle of Power” in China.
On January 25, 2019, Moraes regained the ONE Flyweight World Championship title. He dethroned Eustaquio via unanimous decision in their rematch at “ONE: Hero’s Ascent” in the Philippines.
