Ha Na Jang

The third round of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Hana Financial Group (HFG) Championship 2020 took place at the Sky72 Ocean Course on Yeongjong Island in Incheon, South Korea on November 7, 2020. Min Ji Park and Na Rin An caught up with defending champion Ha Na Jang, who failed to maintain her lead.

The three are now in a three-way tie at the top of the table at 7-under par after the first three rounds of the KLPGA Hana Financial Group Championship 2020. Here is an interview with Jang:

What are your thoughts about your performance today?

The playing time was very long today and the weather got really cold all of  sudden so I felt the stiffness on my muscles. It was a very tough day. However, I expect that tomorrow will be a good final round because I saved some energy today that I can use tomorrow.

What is your goal for tomorrow?

I’m actually close to the winning score (8-under par) which is my expected winning score  that I mentioned on the press conference. I expect that there will be strong wind tomorrow so my  goal is to finish the round with 8-under par.

What do you think about your chances of winning the title of 2020 KLPGA Tour Prize Money  Winner?

My first priority is steady play rather than earning the title of 2020 KLPGA Tour Prize Money Winner. I will just keep my pace of play, not thinking of the title until the game is over.

After establishing the Hana Bank Championship in 2009, Hana Financial Group successfully hosted the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour’s Hana Bank Championship annually until 2018. The tournament changed its name to Hana Financial Group Championship in 2019.

The KLPGA HFG Championship 2020 started on November 5, 2020 and will culminate on November 8, 2020. This is the second year under the new name, which is now part of the Ladies Asian Tour.

Throughout the years, the championship has been the birthplace of world-class players such as Mexican golf hero Lorena Ochoa of Mexico, Juli Inkster of the United States, Laura Davies of the United Kingdom and Tseng Yani of Taiwan. It has also enabled South Korean players like Jin Joo Hong, Na Yeon Choi, Jin Young  Ko, Kyu Jung Bark and In Gee Chun to advance into the world stage of US LPGA.
