Reinier “The Dutch Knight” de Ridder, 30, of the Netherlands will challenge ONE Middleweight World Champion “Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang (အောင်လအန်ဆန်း), 35, of Myanmar at “ONE: Inside the Matrix.” The defending champion is also the reigning ONE Light Heavyweight World Champion.

ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Inside the Matrix” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on October 30, 2020. It will feature six mixed martial arts matches, four of which are title bouts.

De Ridder is an undefeated MMA fighter coming out of three consecutive wins in ONE Championship. Aung is coming out of his successful defense of his ONE Light Heavyweight World Championship title from Brandon “The Truth” Vera, 43, of the Philippines.

“Of course, I have Aung La winning this fight,” Vera said of Aung and de Ridder’s “ONE: Inside the Matrix” fight. “I’m very excited to watch the champ-champ compete again and do his thing. De Ridder better be in shape. Try and not let Aung La hit you.”

Vera, who is the reigning ONE Heavyweight World Champion, went on to make a bold prediction. The American-Filipino MMA fighter predicted that de Ridder will be easy pickings for Aung.

“I don’t think this fight is going to be a war,” Vera commented. “The champ has grown past that. You might see flashes and bangs, even booms when needed but working with his team at Sanford MMA and Coach Henri Hooft, he is becoming a refined warrior.

“Technique plus power is what you are going to witness this Friday night,” Vera continued. When asked whether or not he would like to challenge Aung again, the ONE Heavyweight World Champion had an interesting but firm response.

“No way!” Vera said. “I am never cutting back down again ever! I’m done with weight cutting in my career but, man, I’d give anyone a shot at the heavyweight title if they are in line and challenging, champ-champ included.”

“Of course, he gave me a shot at his championship belt,” Vera said of Aung. “It would probably seem rude not to. Aung La is number one right now. He’s the goat at ONE.”
