Tracy Maureen Perez, 27, of Cebu City, Philippines is one of the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 standouts. She won one of the special awards in the preliminary round of the inaugural beauty pageant on October 23, 2020.
Benjamin Alves hosted the preliminary round. Perez and her 45 fellow Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidates graced the stage of the Cordillera Convention Hall of Baguio Country Club in Baguio City, Philippines in their swimsuits and evening gowns while pre-taped videos of them in their national costumes were shown to the online viewers.
At the end of the event, Alves announced the winners of the special awards, some of which were presented by sponsors. Perez was named Miss Photogenic.
Lou Dominique Piczon, 24, Mandaue, Philippines was Best in National Costume while Maria Ysabella Roxas Ysmael, 24, of Parañaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines was Best in Evening Gown, which was presented by Verzosa Aesthetic Clinic. Michele Gumabao, 27, of Quezon City, Metro Manila was Miss MG Philippines while Pauline Cucharo Amelinckx, 24, of Bohol, Philippines was Miss Creamsilk, Miss Downy Sweetheart, Miss Cetaphil Sun and the Face of the Universe.
The candidates were judged by Miss Universe 2010 fourth runner-up Maria Venus Raj, Miss Universe 2013 third runner-up Ariella Arida, Miss Universe Philippines 2014 Mary Jean Lastimosa and Mister International 2014 Neil Perez. Joining them in the panel of judges were Verzosa Aesthetic Clinic founder Dr. Katrina Salonga Verzosa, Frontrow co-founder and CEO Samuel Salonga Verzosa Jr. and Philippine Fashion Coalition president Jackie C. Aquino.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2020 coronation night will take place at the Cordillera Convention Hall of Baguio Country Club on October 25, 2020. Hosted by KC Montero, it will air on GMA Network.
Prior to the preliminary round, Piczon was named Best in Runway while Perez won the My Face, My Space swimsuit photo challenge. Skelly Ivy Florida, 21, of Biliran, Philippines won the Miss Lazada Fan Vote, which puts her automatically in the Top 16.
Hailing from Madridejos, Cebu, Perez was crowned Binibining Cebu Charity in 2018. In 2019, she competed in Miss World Philippines and finished in the Top 12.
