“Bangon Talentadong Pinoy” marks Ryan Agoncillo’s comeback as a talent show host. Airing on TV5 every 8:00 p.m. Saturdays, the show is produced by Cignal TV through The IdeaFirst Company.

This will be the fifth season of the reality talent show originally titled “Talentadong Pinoy.” He hosted the first three seasons from 2008 to 2013.

“One of the better reasons that ‘Talentadong Pinoy’ is now reincarnated as ‘Bangon Talentadong Pinoy’ really (is that) it’s a call to action not just for the audience but ‘yong sa mga Kapatid natin mismo (but the Kapatids themselves),” Agoncillo said. Kapatid, which is the genderless Filipino word for brother or sister, is the term used to refer to the employees and supporters of TV5.

“You know it’s always been the culture of TV5 I think from a long time ago to always be the safe place so now this is the train that you wanna be on and ‘Bangon Talentadong PInoy’ is such a representation of what we all stand for,” Agoncillo explained. “Tayong mga Kapatid dito sa (We Kapatids here on) TV5, we are reaching the maturity and sabay-sabay tayo na babangon, sama-sama (we will all rise at the same time, all together). This is a safe ground for everyone. This is the train you wanna be on.”

“Bangon Talentadong Pinoy” is a digital and television program that celebrates the many ways Filipinos are proving such resilience. The show boasts a total cash prize of 2.8 million pesos and many contestants can win anywhere from 2,000 pesos to 5,000 pesos to 50,000 pesos even up to 250,000 pesos.

Joining Agoncillo in the show are Janice de Belen, Joross Gamboa and John Arcilla, who serve as talent scouts. Viewers have been praising the chemistry between de Belen, Gamboa and Arcilla.

The show focuses on talents who are affected by the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Participants may audition through the show’s official Facebook page.
