Myanmar’s Sai Nyan Lin submits Matt Korro at ‘ONE Warrior Series 7’ in Singapore

Representing Myanmar, “The Karate Kid” Sai Nyan Lin, 26, was one of the winners at “Rich Franklin’s ONE Warriors Series” Season 7. It was his third bout in the ONE Championship subsidiary headed by mixed martial arts veteran Rich “Ace” Franklin, 44, of the United States.

ONE Championship held “ONE Warrior Series 7” in Singapore on August 6, 2019 featuring one Muay Thai contest and 14 professional MMA matches. In the second bout of the evening, Sai competed in an MMA match in the flyweight division against Matt “Pirate” Korro, 33, of Malaysia.

Isaac Yap served as the referee of the flyweight contest. He put a stop to the contest after 3 minutes and 17 seconds in the first round when Sai submitted Korro via armbar.

Winning at “ONE Warrior Series 7” improved the professional MMA record of Sai to 2 wins and 2 losses. On the other hand, Korro now has 0 win and 2 losses.

“ONE Warrior Series 7” marked Sai’s second win in the ONE Championship subsidiary. In his debut at “ONE Warrior Series 1” on March 31, 2018, he was knocked out by “Deep” Muhammad Adib Sulaiman, 28, of Brunei.

On July 19, 2018, Sai was submitted by Punnya Sai, 20, of Indonesia via rear-naked choke at “ONE Warrior Series 2.”

On June 20, 2019, Sai earned his first ONE Warrior Series win. He submitted Peter “Saint” Danasoe, 18, of Thailand via triangle choke at “ONE Warrior Series 6.”

Including Malaysia and Myanmar, 16 countries were represented at “ONE Warrior Series 7.” The others are Australia, Brazil, Brunei, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Northern Ireland, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, the U.S. and Vietnam.

Malaysia had three representatives namely Korro, “Lehe F3” Lehe, 22, and Ariz “Ayep SC” Izzudin, 29. On the other hand, Sai was one of the two fighters who represented Myanmar.

Korro is training out of Nook Kok Supergame Muay Thai Gym in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Sai represents Team Phoe Thaw.
