Myanmar’s Punnya Sai earns 4th ONE Warrior Series win in Singapore, stays undefeated

Undefeated mixed martial artist Punnya Sai, 20, of Myanmar was one of the winners at “Rich Franklin’s ONE Warriors Series” Season 7. It was his fourth bout in the ONE Championship subsidiary headed by mixed martial arts veteran Rich “Ace” Franklin, 44, of the United States.

ONE Championship held “ONE Warrior Series 7” in Singapore on August 6, 2019 featuring one Muay Thai contest and 14 professional MMA matches. In the sixth bout of the evening, Sai competed in an MMA match in the bantamweight division against Raghvendra Singh, 28, of India with Isaac Yap as the referee.

Yap put a stop to the bantamweight contest after 2 minutes and 52 seconds in the second round. Sai submitted Singh via rear-naked choke.

Winning at “ONE Warrior Series 7” improved the professional MMA record of Sai to 4 wins and 0 loss. He is training out of Bali MMA in Bali, Indonesia.

On the other hand, Singh now has 3 wins and 2 losses. He represents Team Prime Time.

“ONE Warrior Series 7” marked Sai’s fourth consecutive ONE Warrior Series win. When he made his professional MMA debut at “ONE Warrior Series 2” on July 19, 2018, he submitted his countryman “The Karate Kid” Sai Nyan Lin, 26, in the first round.

On October 11, 2018, Punnya knocked out Krishna Lal Tamang, 28, of Nepal via punches at “ONE Warrior Series 3.” On April 25, 2019, the Burmese MMA fighter won at “ONE Warrior Series 5” via unanimous decision against Shafkat Khodzhakulov, 26, of Tajikistan.

Including India and Myanmar, 16 countries were represented at “ONE Warrior Series 7.” The others were Australia, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Northern Ireland, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, the U.S. and Vietnam.

Punnya and Nyan Lin were the two representatives of Myanmar. India had two representatives namely Singh and Neha Kashyap, 24.
