Indonesia and Malaysia were represented at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes” on August 2, 2019. It was the third ONE Championship event in 2019 that took place in the Philippines.
Featuring 12 mixed martial arts matches and two Muay Thai matches, “ONE: Dawn of Heroes” took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. In the first bout of the evening, “The Terminator”Sunoto, 34, of Indonesia faced “Jungle Cat” Muhammad Aiman, 24, of Malaysia.
Including Indonesia and Malaysia, 12 countries were represented at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes.” The other countries were Australia, Brazil, China, Japan, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam.
Sunoto solely represented Indonesia. Aiman is also the only representative of Malaysia.
Aiman is training out of Bali MMA in Bali, Indonesia. Originally from Negeri Sembilan, he made his professional MMA debut in 2016.
“ONE: Dawn of Heroes” marked Aiman’s eighth ONE Championship outing. He was coming out of a unanimous decision loss to Shuya “Stealth” Kamikubo, 24, of Japan.
Sunoto is training out of IndoGym and Team Phantom MMA in Jakarta, Indonesia. Originally from East Java, Indonesia, he moved to Jakarta and made his professional MMA debut in 2013.
“ONE: Dawn of Heroes” marked Sunoto’s 15th ONE Championship outing. He was coming out of a unanimous decision victory against his fellow Indonesian fighter Paul “The Great King” Lumihi, 31..
Sunoto and Aiman competed in an MMA match in the bantamweight division. Olivier Coste served as the referee.
After three five-minute rounds, the bout was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Coste raised the hand of Aiman, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Winning at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes” improved the professional MMA record of Aiman to 6 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Sunoto now has 11 wins and 6 losses.
