[PHOTOS] Singapore vs Brazil: Angela Lee, Michelle Nicolini at ‘ONE: Masters of Destiny’ in Malaysia

Singapore and Brazil were among the countries represented at the ONE Championship event titled “ONE: Masters of Destiny” on July 12, 2019. The fight card featured mixed martial arts matches as well as ONE Super Series contests including Muay Thai and kickboxing bouts.

ONE Championship held “ONE: Masters of Destiny” at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In the co-main event of the evening, reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstopabble” Angela Lee, 23, of Singapore faced Michelle Nicolini, 37, of Brazil.

Blue Corner

Nicolini is training out of is training out of Vila Da Luta in Sao Paulo, Brazil. “ONE: Masters of Destiny” marked her fifth ONE Championship bout.

Red Corner

Lee is training out of Evolve MMA in Singapore and United MMA in Hawaii, United States. “ONE: Masters of Destiny” marked her 11th ONE Championship bout.

Results

Olivier Coste was the referee of the bout between Lee and Nicolini, who competed in an MMA match in the women’s strawweight division. It was the last MMA bout of the evening.

After three three-minute rounds, the strawweight contest was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Coste raised the hand of Nicolini, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

Winning at “ONE: Masters of Destiny” improved the professional MMA record of Nicolini to 6 wins and 2 losses. On the other hand, Lee now has 9 wins and 2 losses.

Countries

Including Brazil and Singapore, 20 countries were represented at “ONE: Masters of Destiny.” The others were Australia, China, Finland, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, the Philippines, Scotland,  South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor Leste, Vietnam and the United States.

Lee solely represented Singapore. Nicolini was the only representative of Brazil.
