[PHOTOS] Scotland vs Thailand: George Mann vs Sorgraw Petchyindee Academy at ‘ONE: Masters of Destiny’ in Malaysia

Scotland and Thailand were among the countries represented at the ONE Championship event titled “ONE: Masters of Destiny” on July 12, 2019. The fight card featured mixed martial arts matches as well as ONE Super Series contests including Muay Thai and kickboxing bouts.

ONE Championship held “ONE: Masters of Destiny” at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In the second bout of the evening, George Mann, 21, of Scotland faced Sorgraw Petchyindee Academy, 26, of Thailand.

Blue Corner

Sorgraw is training out of Petchyindee Academy in Bangkok, Thailand. “ONE: Masters of Destiny” marked his third ONE Super Series bout.

Red Corner

Mann is training out of Riddlers Gym in Osborne Park, Perth, Western Australia. “ONE: Masters of Destiny” marked his second ONE Super Series bout.

Results

Elias Dolaptsis was the referee of the bout between Mann and Sorgraw, who competed in a Muay Thai match in the featherweight division. It was one of the two Muay Thai bouts on the card.

After three three-minute rounds, the Muay Thai contest was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Dolaptsis raised the hand of Sorgraw, who was declared the winner via split decision.

Countries

Including Scotland and Thailand, 20 countries were represented at “ONE: Masters of Destiny.” The others were Australia, Brazil, China, Finland, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Timor Leste, Vietnam and the United States.

Mann solely represented Scotland. Sorgraw was one of the two fighters who represented Thailand.
