Thailand and the United Kingdom were among the 15 countries represented at “ONE: Legendary Quest.” On the card were both mixed martial arts matches and ONE Super Series contests, featuring both kickboxing and Muay Thai.
ONE Championship held “ONE: Legendary Quest” at the Baoshan Arena in Shanghai, China on June 15, 2019. The seventh bout of the evening was between Rodlek PK.Saenchaimuaythaigym, 29, of Bangkok, Thailand and Liam “Hitman” Harrison, 33 of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.
Rodlek was one of the two representatives of Thailand at “ONE: Legendary Quest” while Harrison solely represented the U.K. Australia, Brazil, China, Egypt, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Morocco, Myanmar, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Scotland and South Korea were also represented.
On June 12, 2019, Rodlek and Harrison had their official face-off during the press conference at Yunspace in Shanghai. The event was graced by ONE Championship Greater China chairman Hua Fung Teh and reigning ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan, 31, of China.
Born in Leeds on October 5, 1985, Harrison has been training in Muay Thai since he was 13 years old. Training out of Bad Company Thai Boxing Gym in Leeds, he is an eight-time Muay Thai World Champion.
When Harrison made his ONE Super Series debut on December 7, 2018, he lost to Petchmorrakot Wor. Sangprapai, 24, of Bangkok, who is now known as Petchmorrakot Petchyindee Academy. “ONE: Legendary Quest” marked the English fighter’s 10th bout in the league.
Born in Ban Na San, Surat Thani, Thailand on February 3, 1990, Rodlek went to Rattana Bundit University in Bangkok. As a Muay Thai fighter, he has been competing since he was 10 years old.
Rodlek made his ONE Super Series debut at “ONE: Legendary Quest.” Formerly called Rodlek Jaotalaytong, he is currently training out of PK.Saenchaimuaythaigym in Bangkok.
Rodlek and Harrison competed in a Muay Thai match in the bantamweight division. Atsushi Onari served as the referee.
After three three-minute rounds, the bantamweight Muay Thai match was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Onari raised the hand of Rodlek, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Winning at “ONE: Legendary Quest” improved the professional Muay Thai record of Rodlek to 126 wins, 40 losses and 5 draws. On the other hand, Harrison now has 85 wins, 23 losses and 2 draws.
“ONE: Legendary Quest” Main Events
Agilan “Alligator” Thani, 23, of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia faced ONE Championship debutante Yoshihiro “Sexyama” Akiyama, 43, of Osaka, Japan in an MMA match in the welterweight division. The Malaysian contender won via unanimous decision.
ONE Super Series debutante Alma Juniku, 18, of Australia challenged reigning ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex, 27, of Thailand in the main event. The Thai defending champion won via unanimous decision.
