Thailand and China were among the 19 countries represented at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” on May 17, 2019. ONE Championship held the combat sports event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.
Featuring 10 mixed martial arts matches and six ONE Super Series contests, which were six kickboxing bouts, “ONE: Enter the Dragon” was the Singapore-based martial arts organization’s second event in 2019 that took place in Singapore. The ninth bout was between Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, 40, Thailand and Miao Li Tao, 26, of Beijing, China.
Dejdamrong was one of the five representatives of Thailand at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” while Miao solely represented China. Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Moldova, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States were also represented.
Blue Corner
Originally from Luoyang, Henan, China, Miao is training out of Fighting Brothers in Beijing. When he was a teenager, he started his training in wushu sanda.
“ONE: Enter the Dragon” marked Miao’s second ONE Championship bout. He has been competing professionally since 2016.
Red Corner
Dejdamrong reigned as the ONE Strawweight World Champion from May 22, 2015 to May 27, 2016. Training out of Evolve MMA in Singapore, he is a retired Muay Thai fighter and a former two-division Lumpinee champion.
“ONE: Enter the Dragon” marked Dejdamrong’s 15th ONE Championship bout. Born on November 7, 1978 in Trang, Thailand, he has been competing professionally since 2014.
Fight Result
Dejdamrong and Miao competed in an MMA match in the strawweight division. Kemp Cheng served as the referee.
Cheng put a stop to the strawweight contest after 4 minutes and 9 seconds in the first round. Miao knocked out Dejdamrong.
Winning at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” improved the professional MMA record of Miao to 4 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Dejdamrong now has 10 wins and 5 losses.
“ONE: Enter the Dragon” Main Events
Both fighting out of the Netherlands, Nieky “The Natural” Holzken, 34, and Regian “The Immortal” Eersel, 25, competed for the inaugural ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Championship in the co-main event. The latter won the title via unanimous decision.
Christian “The Warrior” Lee, 20, of Singapore challenged reigning ONE Lightweight World Championship: Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki, 35, of Japan in the main event. The Singaporean challenger dethroned the Japanese defending champion via technical knockout.
