Australia and the Netherlands were among the 19 countries represented at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” on May 17, 2019. ONE Championship held the combat sports event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.
Featuring 10 mixed martial arts matches and six ONE Super Series contests, which were six kickboxing bouts, “ONE: Enter the Dragon” was the Singapore-based martial arts organization’s second event in 2019 that took place in Singapore. The second bout was between Daniel “The Rock” Dawson, 41, of Australia and Brown Pinas, 26, of the Netherlands.
Dawson solely represented Australia at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” while Pinas was one of the three representatives of the Netherlands. Argentina, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Moldova, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States were also represented.

A two-time European Kickboxing Champion, Pinas is training out of Arj Traininggen in Den Haag, South Holland, Netherlands. “ONE: Enter the Dragon” marked his fourth ONE Super Series bout.
On November 17, 2018, Pinas earned his first ONE Super Series win by defeating Yohann Fairtex Drai, 26, of France and Thailand at “ONE: Warrior’s Dream.” The Dutch fighter lost to Chamuaktong Fightermuaythai, 29, of Thailand at “ONE: Reign of Kings” on July 27, 2018 and to Bangpleenoi Petchyindee Academy, 25, of Thailand at “ONE: Hero’s Ascent” on January 25, 2019.
Red Corner
Born in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, Australia on October 15, 1977, Dawson is an eight-time world champion in Muay Thai, kickboxing and boxing training out of NRT Gym. “ONE: Enter the Dragon” marked his second ONE Super Series outing.
When Dawson made his ONE Super Series debut at “ONE: Beyond the Horizon” on September 8, 2018, he knocked out Mustapha “The Flying Dragon” Haida, 29, of Florence, Italy. The Australian kickboxer is also a contributing author at Australian news website FIGHTMAG.
Fight Result
Dawson and Pinas competed in a ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix alternate bout. Atsushi Onari served as the referee.
After three three-minute rounds, the kickboxing contest was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Onari raised the hand of Dawson, who was declared the winner via split decision.
Winning at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” improved the professional kickboxing record of Dawson to 54 wins and 14 losses. On the other hand, Pinas now has 26 wins, 11 losses and 1 draw.
“ONE: Enter the Dragon” Main Events
Both fighting out of the Netherlands, Nieky “The Natural” Holzken, 34, and Regian “The Immortal” Eersel, 25, competed for the inaugural ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Championship in the co-main event. The latter won the title via unanimous decision.
Christian “The Warrior” Lee, 20, of Singapore challenged reigning ONE Lightweight World Championship: Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki, 35, of Japan in the main event. The Singaporean challenger dethroned the Japanese defending champion via technical knockout.
