[PHOTOS] Malaysia vs Japan: Keanu Subba, Ryogo Takahashi fight at ‘ONE: For Honor’ in Indonesia

Malaysia and Japan were among the 16 countries represented at “ONE: For Honor.” It was the second ONE Championship event in 2019 that took place in Indonesia.

Featuring 10 mixed martial arts matches and four ONE Super Series contests, which are four Muay Thai bouts, “ONE: For Honor” took place at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia on May 4, 2019. The seventh bout of the evening was between Keanu Subba, 24, of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Ryogo Takahashi (高橋遼伍), 30, of Kakogawa, Hyogo, Japan.

Takahashi was one of the four fighters who represented Japan at “ONE: For Honor” while Subba was one of the two representatives of Malaysia. Australia, Cambodia, China, England, India, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Russia, Scotland, South Korea, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam were also represented.

Blue Corner

Born in Japan on February 22, 1989, Takahashi has been competing professionally since 2011. He made his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: For Honor.”

Takahashi previously competed in Shooto. He is training out of Krazy Bee in Tokyo, Japan.

Red Corner

Born in Malaysia on July 5, 1994, Subba has been competing professionally since 2011. He is a former MIMMA Featherweight Champion.

“ONE: For Honor” marked Subba’s ninth ONE Championship bout. He is training out of Bali MMA in Bali, Indonesia and Monarchy MMA in Kuala Lumpur.

Fight Results

Takahashi and Subba competed in an MMA match in the featherweight division. Kemp Cheng served as the referee.

Cheng put a stop to the contest after 1 minute and 46 seconds in the first round. Takahashi knocked out Subba.

Winning at “ONE: For Honor” improved the professional MMA record of Takahashi to 12 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Subba now has 7 wins and 4 losses.

Jonathan “The General” Haggerty, 21, of Walworth, London, United Kingdom challenged reigning ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, 34, of Buriram, Thailand in the main event. [RESULT TO BE ADDED HERE]
