Russia vs Sweden: Ikram Aliskerov, Khamzat Chimaev fight at ‘Brave 23: Pride and Honor’ in Jordan

Russia and Sweden were among the 16 countries represented at “Brave 23: Pride and Honor” on April 19, 2019. It was the second Brave Combat Federation event to take place in the country.

Featuring 12 mixed martial arts matches, which included three title bouts, “Brave 23: Pride and Honor” took place at the Martyr Rashid Al-Ziyoud Hall Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan. The eighth bout of the evening was between Ikram Aliskerov, 26, of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia and Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev, 24, of Stockholm, Sweden.

Aliskerov was one of the two fighters who represented Russia at “Brave 23: Pride and Honor” while Chimaev was one of the two fighters who represented Sweden. Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, England, France, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, South Africa, Tunisia, the United States and Wales were also represented.

Blue Corner

Chimaev made his successful professional MMA debut in 2018. In the same year, he earned four wins in total and joined Brave CF.

“Brave 23: Pride and Honor” marked Chimaev’s third Brave CF outing. He previously competed in International Ring Fight Arena and Fight Club Rush.

Red Corner

Aliskerov made his successful professional MMA debut in 2012. He went on hiatus from 2013 to 2014, made a successful comeback in 2015 and joined Brave CF in 2017.

“Brave 23: Pride and Honor” marked Aliskerov’s sixth Brave CF bout. He previously competed in Fight Stars Promotion, Tech-KREP Fighting Championship and Fight Nights: Dagestan.

Fight Result

Aliskerov and Chimaev competed in the welterweight division. It was the second bout on the main card.

The referee put a stop to the welterweight contest in the first round when Chimaev knocked out Aliskerov. This made the Swedish contender the first fighter to defeat the Russian fighter in a professional MMA bout.

Winning at “Brave 23: Pride and Honor” improved Chimaev’s professional MMA record to 5 wins and 0 loss. On the other hand, Aliskerov now has 8 wins and 1 loss.

Luan “Miau” Santiago, 24, of Brazil challenged Brave CF Lightweight Champion Abdul-Kareem “Pride of Palestine” Al-Selwady, 23, in the first co-main event. [RESULT TO BE ADDED HERE]

Mounir “The Sniper” Lazzez, 31, of Tunisia and Eldar “Khan” Eldarov, 27, of Bahrain competed for the inaugural Brave CF Super Lightweight Championship title in the second co-main event. [RESULT TO BE ADDED HERE]

Abdoul “Sinistro” Abdouraguimov, 23, challenged reigning Brave CF Welterweight Champion Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al-Selawe, 26, of Jordan in the main event. [RESULT TO BE ADDED HERE]
