When Mounir “The Sniper” Lazzez, 31, of Tunisia made his Brave Combat Federation debut, he broke the undefeated professional mixed martial arts record of Dmitrijs “DMA” Homjakovs, 30, of Sweden. The bout is considered one of the best matches by experts including Brave CF play-by-play commentator and MMA pioneer Kirik Jenness.

On September 21, 2018, Brave CF pit two undefeated MMA fighters against each other. Lazzez and Homjakovs battled it out at “Brave 16: Abu Dhabi,” which took place at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Leon Roberts served as the referee of the bout. He put a stop to the contest after 4 minutes and 15 seconds in the second round when Lazzez knocked out Homjakovs via punches.

Lazzez and Homjakovs literally went to war as they traded punches throughout the first and second rounds. The Tunisian fighter got the upper hand and finished his Swedish opponent with a series of blows that would have floored stronger fighters.

Winning at “Brave 16: Abu Dhabi” improved Lazzez’s professional MMA record to 7 wins and 0 loss. On the other hand, Homjakovs now has 4 wins and 1 loss.

The bout was considered an instant classic and is ranked among the best fights in Brave CF history. Jenness said, “(It is) the best fight I’ve ever watched.”

Lazzez himself is aware of the impact the fight itself had in his career and at Brave CF as a whole. He claimed it was “the best fight in Brave CF history.”

“I don’t think this was just one of the best Brave fights,” Lazzez said. “It was the best. There were some influencers that were voting for other fights in 2018 in Brave’s social media and they were boring fights.”

“I’m not a social media guy,” the undefeated Tunisian MMA fighter continued. “I devote my time to training but the specialists have voted for my fight. It was amazing.”

On April 19, 2019, Lazzez will put his undefeated professional MMA record yet again. He and Eldar “Khan” Eldarov, 27, of Bahrain will compete for the inaugural Brave Combat Federation Super Lightweight Championship in one of the two co-main events of “Brave 23: Pride and Honor,” which will take place at the Al Hussein Youth City, Martyr Rashid Al-Ziyoud Hall (Boxing Arena) in Amman, Jordan.
