Once again, Abdoul “Sinistro” Abdouraguimov, 23, of France is putting his undefeated professional mixed martial arts record on the line. At the same, he will also face a hometown hero and challenge a reigning champion.
On April 19, 2019, Abdouraguimov will challenge reigning Brave Combat Federation Welterweight Champion Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al-Selawe, 26, of Jordan. They will headline “Brave 23: Pride and Honor,” which will take place at the Martyr Rashid Al-Ziyoud Hall Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan.
“As a fighter, I have to be prepared to fight anywhere, anytime, with anybody,” Abdouraguimov stated. “You have to have this mentality. I know this is a sport but as a fighter, you have to be ready.”
“I would be ready here, at my home, wherever,” Abdouraguimov continued. “Maybe, he has pressure on him because he will be in front of his hometown with his family, friends and fans.”
Before becoming a top contender in the welterweight division, Abdouraguimov had two incredible performances under the Brave CF banner. He has been quickly thrust into the spotlight with two convincing performances for the promotion.
When Abdouraguimov made his Brave CF debut at “Brave 14” at the Omnisports Indoor Club of Tangier in Tangier, Morocco on August 18, 2018, he defeated Sidney “The All-American Kid” Wheeler, 21, of the United States. On October 27, 2018, the French-Russian submission machine defeated Rodrigo Cavalheiro, 35, of Brazil at “Brave 17” at the Nistar Park Sports Complex in Lahore, Pakistan.
Abdouraguimov is now one of the most feared grapplers in MMA and is one of the youngest fighters in the Brave CF roster. “Brave 23: Pride and Honor” marks his third outing in the promotion.
To become the new Brave CF Welterweight World Champion, Abdouraguimov has to outperform Al-Selawe. The latter holds the record for most wins inside Brave CF with six victories.
“Brave 23: Pride and Honor” marks Al-Selawe’s first title defense and second Brave CF bout in front of his countrymen. Here is a clip featuring him and Abdouraguimov:
