[PHOTOS] Myanmar vs Malaysia: Bozhena Antoniyar, Audreylaura Boniface fight at ‘ONE: Reign of Valor’ in Yangon, Myanmar

Myanmar and Malaysia were two of the 21 countries represented at “ONE: Reign of Valor,” the first ONE Championship event in 2019 held in Myanmar. The Singapore-based mixed martial arts promotion held it at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on March 8, 2019.

“ONE: Reign of Valor” featured nine MMA matches and five ONE Super Series contests, which are kickboxing bouts. In the third bout of the evening, Bozhena “Toto” Antoniyar, 23, of Myanmar faced Audreylaura “Ice Comet” Boniface, 29, of Malaysia.

Antoniyar was one of the three hometown heroes at “ONE: Reign of Valor.” Boniface was the sole representative of Malaysia.

Hailing from Kampung Langsat, Sabah, Malaysia, Boniface was a university student when she started her taekwondo training. While working full-time as a doctor in a hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, she still finds time to train at Borneo Tribal Squad MMA.

Boniface made her professional MMA debut in 2015 and joined ONE Championship in 2017. “ONE: Reign of Valor” marked her third bout in the promotion.

Growing up in Loikaw, Myanmar, Antoniyar was 16 years old when she started her training in boxing. On February 23, 2018, she made her professional MMA debut at “ONE: Quest for Gold” at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium where she knocked out her fellow Burmese fighter Shwe Sin.

But on November 6, 2018, Antoniyar was knocked out by Rika “Tiny Doll” Ishige, 29, of Thailand at “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. “ONE: Reign of Valor” marked the third ONE Championship bout of the Loikaw native, who is training out of Bali MMA in Indonesia.

Fight Result

Antoniyar and Boniface competed in an MMA match in the atomweight division. Kemp Cheng served as the referee of the bout.

Cheng put a stop to the contest after 1 minute and 31 seconds in the second round. Antoniyar knocked out Boniface.

Winning at “ONE: Reign of Valor” improved Antoniyar’s professional MMA record to 2 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Boniface now has 1 win and 4 losses.

“ONE: Reign of Valor” Main Events

Phoe “Bushido” Thaw, 34, of Myanmar faced “The Iceman” Yohan Mulia Legowo, 38, of Indonesia in the co-main event. The Burmese contender knocked out his Indonesian opponent in the second round.

Georgiy “Knight” Kichigin, 28, of Kazakhstan challenged reigning ONE Welterweight World Champion Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam, 28, of Sweden in the main event. After two five-minute rounds, the Swedish defending champion won via technical knockout via retirement.

Australia, Cambodia, China, Finland, Germany, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Morocco, the Philippines, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Thailand and the United Kingdom were also represented at “ONE: Reign of Valor.” Check the complete results on Conan Daily.
