[PHOTOS] Indonesia vs Korea: Anthony Engelen, Kwon Won Il fight at ‘ONE: Eternal Glory’ in Jakarta

Indonesia, the Netherlands and South Korea were among the 14 countries to be represented at “ONE: Eternal Glory” at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia on January 19, 2019. It is the first event of ONE Championship in 2019.

Featured on the fight card were two Muay Thai bouts and 12 mixed martial arts matches. In the fifth bout of the evening, Anthony “The Archangel” Engelen, 33, of Netherlands and Indonesia and “Pretty Boy” Won Il Kwon, 23, of Goyang, South Korea.

Blue Corner

Kwon has been competing professionally since 2014. He is training out of Extreme Combat and Top Gym BF.

“ONE: Eternal Glory” marked Kwon’s ONE Championship debut. He entered the cage as an undefeated fighter.

Red Corner

Engelen was born and raised in Ermelo, Gelderland, Netherlands. His father Roland Engelen is from Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia while his mother Inky Engelen is Dutch.

Anthony trains out of Indogym in Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta. “ONE: Eternal Glory” marked his eighth ONE Championship bout.

Fight Result

Anthony and Kwon competed in an MMA match in the featherweight division. Referee Kemp Cheng put a stop to the contest after 1 minute and 7 seconds in the first round when the Korean fighter knocked out his Dutch-Indonesian opponent via strikes.

Winning at “ONE: Eternal Glory” improved Kwon’s professional record to 6 wins and 0 loss. On the other hand, Lasiri now has 8 wins and 5 losses.

“ONE: Eternal Glory” Main Events

In the main event of “ONE: Eternal Glory,” Yosuke “Tobizaru” Saruta, 31, of Saitama, Japan will challenge Joshua “The Passion” Pacio, 22, of La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines. The Japanese challenger won via split decision.

In the co-main event, Alexi “Phet” Serepisos, 24, of New Zealand and Mongkolpetch Petchyindee Academy, 23, of Thailand competed in a Muay Thai contest in the flyweight division. The Thai contender won via unanimous decision.

Brazil, China, India, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Thailand and the United Kingdom were also represented at “ONE: Eternal Glory.” Check the complete fight card here.
