[PHOTOS] Indonesia vs Bangladesh: Rudy Agustian, Asraful Islam fight at ‘ONE: Conquest of Champions’ in the Philippines

Indonesia and Bangladesh were among the 14 countries represented at “ONE: Conquest of Champions.” Taking place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines, it is the fourth and last ONE Championship event in the Philippines in 2018.

“ONE: Conquest of Champions” featured eight mixed martial arts matches, two Muay Thai bouts and two kickboxing contests. In the first bout of the evening, Rudy “The Golden Boy” Agustian, 33, of Tangerang, Indonesia faced Asraful “Warrior” Islam, 22, of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Originally, Agustian and Islam were scheduled to face each other at “ONE: Pursuit of Greatness” at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on October 26, 2018. But the latter was pulled out of the card and was replaced by Kaji “Alpha” Ebin, 26, of the Philippines.

“ONE: Conquest of Champions” marked Islam’s second bout in ONE Championship. He is representing Warriors Academy of MMA.


The Bangladeshi MMA fighter is a former National Boxing and Wushu Champion and the former UFI Bantamweight Champion. He is a practitioner of Jeet Kune Do, the martial art developed by Bruce Lee.

Agustian is a former Indonesian Flyweight Champion. He is a Muay Thai specialist.

When Agustian made his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Pursuit of Greatness,” he submitted Ebin via keylock. The Indonesian MMA fighter is competing in ONE Championship for the second time at “ONE: Conquest of Champions.”

Fight Result

Agustian and Islam competed in an MMA match in the flyweight division. Olivier Coste served as the referee.

After three five-minute rounds, the flyweight bout between Agustian and Islam was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Coste raised the hand of the Indonesian fighter, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

By winning at “ONE: Conquest of Champions,” Agustian maintained his undefeated record. It improved his professional MMA record to 2 wins and 0 loss while Islam now has 0 win and 2 losses.

“ONE: Conquest of Champions” Main Events

In the co-main event of the evening, Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, 34, of Baguio City, Philippines and Amir Khan, 23, of Singapore competed for the vacant ONE Lightweight World Championship. After five five-minute rounds, the Filipino contender won via unanimous decision.

In the main event, Mauro “The Hammer” Cerilli, 35, of Terracina, Latina, Italy challenged reigning ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera, 41, of Manila, Philippines. The Filipino defending champion knocked out his Italian challenger in the first round.
