The Netherlands and Brazil were represented at the ONE Championship event “ONE: Warrior’s Dream,” which took place on November 17, 2018 at the Stadium Istora in Jakarta, Indonesia. The fight card featured three ONE Super Series striking contests and 11 mixed martial arts matches.
In the 13th bout of the evening, which was the co-main event, Nieky “The Natural” Holzken, 34, of Helmond, Netherlands faced Cosmo “Good Boy” Alexandre, 36, of Santos, Sao Paulo, Brazil. They competed in a kickboxing contest in a catch weight of 78 kg under ONE Super Series.
Blue Corner
Alexandre began his athletic career as a footballer but gave it all up at the age of 19 to pursue Muay Thai. He has since put together a phenomenal professional martial arts career, winning numerous world titles in both Muay Thai and kickboxing including Lion Fight Super Middleweight World Championship and It’s Showtime 77MAX World Championship.
One of the best strikers Brazil has ever produced, Alexandre has faced some of the biggest names in the striking arena, including John Wayne Parr, Sakmongkol Sithchuchok, Yodsanklai Fairtex and Giorgio Petrosyan. On April 20, 2018, Alexandre made a successful ONE Super Series debut by knocking out Elliot “The Dragon” Compton, 28, of Queensland, Australia at “ONE: Heroes of Honor” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
Red Corner
Holzken knew from a very young age that he wanted to become a professional martial artist. He competed extensively, compiling over 100 wins across multiple martial arts disciplines including boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai on his way to Dutch and European championships before claiming several world titles.
A sensational striker with an entertaining style, Holzken has secured almost 50 knockouts in kickboxing and an additional 11 in the boxing ring. “ONE: Warrior’s Dream” marked the ONE Super Series debut of the multiple-time Kickboxing World Champion from Helmond.
