Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, “Brave 17” was the inaugural Brave Combat Federation event in Pakistan. It was headlined by Rodrigo Cavalheiro, 35, of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil and Abdoul “Sinistro” Abdouraguimov, 23, of Nantes, France.
“Brave 17” was also the first ever mixed martial events hosted by a global MMA promotion in the country. Taking place at the Nistar Sports Complex in Lahore, Pakistan on October 27, 2018, it featured one amateur mixed martial arts match and nine professional MMA bouts.
In the main event of the evening, Cavalheiro and Abdouraguimov competed in the welterweight division. After three five-minute rounds, the French contender won via unanimous decision.
By defeating Cavalheiro at “Brave 17,” Abdouraguimov was able to retain his undefeated professional MMA record. The French fighter now has 9 wins, 0 loss and 1 No Contest.
“Brave 17” marked Abdouraguimov’s second bout in Brave CF. When he made his debut in the Bahrain-based MMA promotion, which was at “Brave 14” in Morocco on August 14, 2018, he knocked out Sidney “The All-American Kid” Wheeler, 21, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, United States.
As the winner of the main event of “Brave 17,” Abdouraguimov is expected to face Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al Selawe, 26, of Jordan for the the Brave CF Welterweight Championship. This will be the first title defense of the latter.
