Reunion Island’s Florent Kaouachi to make ONE Super Series debut in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

A French veteran martial artist has just joined ONE Championship. Hailing from Reunion Island, France three-time Kickboxing World Champion Florent Kaouachi will make his debut in the promotion’s striking-only league ONE Super Series at “ONE: Pursuit of Power” on July 13, 2018.

A kickboxing match in the middleweight division between Kaouachi and Sergej “Kuvalda” Maslobojev, 31, of Lithuania has been booked for “ONE: Pursuit of Power,” which will take place at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It will be the sixth bout of the evening.

Sporting a professional kickboxing record of 35 wins and 5 losses, Kaouachi is considered one of the top middleweight kickboxers to come out of Europe. The Reunion Island native is training out of Mahmoudi Gym in Bonneuil-sur-Marne, Val de Marne, France.

Kaouachi’s experience has now brought him to the prestigious ONE Super Series, where he aims to compete against the world’s very best in striking martial arts. To make a successful debut in the league, he has to outperform Maslobojev at “ONE: Pursuit of Power.”

Maslobojev is training out of Sparta Fight Gym in Vilnius, Lithuania. He is being trained by Andrius Sipaila.

“ONE: Pursuit of Power” marks Maslobojev’s second ONE Super Series bout. He made a a successful debut in the league on May 12, 2018 at “ONE: Grit and Glory”  by defeating Antonio Plazibat, 24, of Croatia.

The first match at “ONE: Pursuit of Power” will be a  Muay Thai contest in the flyweight division. It will be between Petchdam Kaiyanghadao of Bangkok, Thailand and Josh “Timebomb” Tonna of Canberra, Australia.

The main event of “ONE: Pursuit of Power” is a welterweight bout between Thani and Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam, 27, of Sweden. The co-main event is a ONE Super Series Muay Thai featherweight contest between “Smokin” Jo Nattawut, 28, of Thailand and Yohann Fairtex Drai, 26, of France.
