Hailing from Lithuania, Muay Thai fighter Deividas “The Savage Sitsongpeenong” Danyla, 26, is currently training in Thailand. On July 7, 2018, he will make his debut in ONE Championship at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens,” which will take place at the Guangzhou Tianhe Gymnasium in Guangzhou, China.
At “ONE: Battle for the Heavens,” Danyla will compete against Saemapetch Fairtex, 23, of Thailand in a Muay Thai contest in the bantamweight division. It will be the first time for both martial artists to compete in ONE Super Series, the striking-only league of ONE Championship.
The Muay Thai contest between Danyla and Saemapetch is one of the three ONE Super Series bouts at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens.” It will be the sixth bout of the evening.
Danyla is an International Muaythai Council (IMC) Muay Thai World Champion. He began training in Muay Thai when he was just 10 years old.
In the Lithuanian and European scene, Danyla had great success, capturing four national and two regional championships. Since moving to Thailand in 2017 in search of a greater challenge, he has faced a host of elite competition in Muay Thai and proved he has what it takes to be counted amongst the world’s best.
“ONE: Battle for the Heavens” will be headlined by Yodcherry Sityodtong, 19, of Thailand and Kai Ting “Killer Bee” Chuang, 23, of Chinese Taipei. The winner will be the very first ONE Super Series Kickboxing Atomweight World Champion.
“World-class martial arts makes a triumphant return to the beautiful city of Guangzhou with another spectacular event,” ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong stated. He added that Yodcherry and Chuang will be joined by “several of the very best martial arts talent from China and the world.”
